Nuria Pereira Espasandín, PhD student

In the final years of my Biology degree, I developed an interest in genetics, particularly its role in cancer. In 2019, I joined the Mobile Genomes, where I began studying transposable elements in cancer, an experience that introduced me to the fields of genomics and bioinformatics. This led me to pursue an MSc in Bioinformatics, where I developed a solid foundation in computational biology and data analysis. My current research combines both wet and dry lab experience, focusing on investigating somatic mutations in normal and cancer tissues, with a particular emphasis on transposable elements.
